May 15-16, Moscow hosted the annual conference of the international network of law firms ILF. The host and organizer of the conference was Ost Legal law firm — a member of the international network from Russian Federation. The conference brought together representatives of law firms from 16 countries represented by the managing partners and partners.
ILF annual conference traditionally included business and informal parts. The business part of the conference carries the control and the reporting function of the network. Representatives of firms — members of the network — listen to reports on the new features and discuss current issues of the business association. The informal part contains the intellectual component, implying reports of guest speakers, and entertainment — visiting the major historical and cultural areas of the city.
In the informal part of the conference Derk Sauer, the president of the holding RBC, Holger Zscheyge, CEO of the publishing Infotropic Media, and Ivan Apatov, Managing Partner of White Collar Marketing, made presentations. Invited speakers talked about the experience of doing business in Russia and made a review of the legal services market. Derk Sauer conducts business in Russia since 1989; he spoke about the history of Independent Media media holding, start-up of such kind pf projects as Cosmopolitan, The Moscow Times, Esquire, Vedomosti. Derk shared his vision of the development of business in Russia, expressing optimistic forecasts. Holger Zscheyge spoke about his extensive experience in the publishing business focused on the legal sector in Russia. Ivan Apatov gave an overview of the legal services market in Russia in terms of sanctions economy.
The conference was held at the Four Seasons Hotel Moscow, located in a few steps from the Red Square, which allowed a rich program of events outside. There were presented the best options for excursions to the legendary historical sites in Moscow for Conference quests.
