Success in sailing regattas

depends on a combination of pursuing the right strategy, making clear and consistent tactical decisions, experience, quick thinking, well-coordinated teamwork and focusing on the ultimate goal, in other words – all of the components that distinguish Ost Legal in its professional legal practice as well.

The opportunity to be guided by the exact same principles in both work and sport lent impetus to the creation of our racing team, which takes part in top-tier regattas – including the world and European championships.

The team’s main focus is match racing –

one of yachting’s most thrilling disciplines in which rivals compete head-to-head. Aside from match racing, Ost Legal Sailing also participates in the traditional fleet racing, and since 2016 – in the National Sailing League.

Ost Legal Sailing was officially founded in 2015, and since that time, the team has achieved impressive results.

In 2016, the team continued its successful performance, winning a number of match-racing competitions both in Russia and abroad and taking “silver” in the Russian Championship in the “MK” class, although Ost Legal Sailing was primarily focused in 2016 on the National Sailing League.
In 2015, the team won the European Championship in match racing, followed by the ISAF Nations Cup – one of the most prestigious match-racing regattas at the world championship level. Based on the year’s results, the team skipper, Vladimir Lipavsky, was nominated for the “2015 Yachtsman of the Year” award.

All of the country’s most formidable yachtsmen take part in the competition. Ost Legal Sailing finished second out of 26 teams in the 2016 NSL overall standings, allowing the team to participate in qualifications for participation in the European champions final.
